Naloxone is now available without prescription at select pharmacies across the United States and Canada. CVS Pharmacy now provides naloxone over the counter with instruction from the pharmacist. Any provider (MD, PA, or ARNP) can write a prescription for naloxone. There are several different formulations of naloxone and there are delivery method differences. Your healthcare provider can provide guidance in this area and insurance providers may pay for naloxone.
